GO 396 is a "brief" summary of the trial transcripts plus actions by Joseph Holt and President Lincoln that I found at National Archives about 15 years ago. This and another trial transcript are the main basis of my book. It will be out in June at the latest (maybe 3rd week of May). James; Skirmish at the Irish Shanty) in soft or hard cover. The Clement RR Museum in Dickson is being good enough to sell the book for me but it will not be there until June. Palmyra, overlooking the Cumberland River, between Cumberland City and Clarksville, was the site of a Rebel attack on the U.S. St. Clair and four transports. As I recall, one of the boats was sunk and at least one other damaged. It is thought this attack was in part the work of Woodward and his men. Aaron James is thought to have also been there along with Dr. Henry Marable (from Waverly). This was on April 2, 1863. The Union struck back April 4 by shelling and burning Palmyra.
