Thx Jim, there were just a handful that died at Chase from Fort Donelson. I have a complete list of the Fort Donelson prisoners at Camp Chase on the web page SCV Camp Chase Ohio and I would be curious to see how that holds up with your list of soldiers taken at Donelson? The site should be listed as under construction and there are some mistakes with the information in general and it will take me years to get all the information as I want it but the 3 pages of Donelson prisoners should be accurate. I just came back from Louisville, Kentucky from doing reserach and according to the newspaper the "Daily Democrat" it too has William Cunningham as being with the 54 Tennessee wounded and captured at Pittsburgh Landing. I did not know until yesterday that hospital USA number 4 which was in Louisville, Kentucky is still standing. It is located in the Portland neighborhood which is just west of Louisville along the Ohio River. Picked up a lot of great information between the Filson Historical House and the main library on York Street. I also found more soldiers listed as being at Shiloh with the 2nd Mississippi Infantry which was not at Shiloh. I speculate that some the soldiers were home on furlough from Virginia and found themselves at the battle as many of them were from Northern Mississippi. 2nd Lt. Renner and Captain Willis of the 51st Virginia Militia are listed in some places as being captured at Fort Donelson, however they were captured in Virginia by General Lander on February 14, 1862.
