Hello Stacy, I was a little skeptical about your story but it does hold water. William C. Roland enlisted at Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on November 30, 1861 in Company G of the 54th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry at age 36. Page nine of his Confederate Compiled Military Service Records gave a detailed account of your story and he was ordered shot at 4:00 pm on April 12, 1862 in front of the Tennessee Regiment at Corinth. The 14th Iowa was at Shiloh and there was a William Roland in Company H. Thanks for an interesting story.
