Re: 5th Alabama positions at Gettysburg

The scenario described of O'Neal's attack (Krisman) fits the narrative by a guide I overheard when visiting Gettysburg early this month. I was not in the party but was nearby and overheard the narrative and questions by members of the tour group. The guide maintained in his narrative that O'Neal assaulted at 2:00P with 3 brigades (not identified) towards Baxter's 2nd Brigade. The attack was short-lived and repulsed until Iverson moved his brigade of NC troops to take the wall where Baxter had placed his Federals. The result was a slaughter of Iverson's troops. The guide stated that the Alabamians under O'Neal rallied and drove the Federals from the stone wall. Baxter was then supported by Paul's Federal unit and they formed an angle at the Mummasburg road crossing of Oak ridge. The Confederates overran the angle then lost the angle before repulsing several Federal assaults and, finally, drove the Federals back through the village. I was scribbling as fast as possible but neglected to hear any units (Confederate or federal) or commanders named. I may have missed some important information...my goal was to learn where the 5th Ala. was positioned and did not accomplish the goal but did overhear a seemingly knowledgeable narrative.
