As of now, I still have located only the sketchiest information about the locations of confederate regiments on July 2nd near Little Round Top, let alone the companies in those regiments. All I have learned about my relative's regiment, the 44th Alabama, is that it was hotly engaged "At Devil's Den". This is where he, Pvt Paul Kyzer, was killed. (I do know he was in Company D.). If memory serves, the 47th Alabama was either located, or held in reserve at, the base of Big Round Top, apparently to engage the Union Regiments curled around Little Round Top. The 20th Maine is referred to more frequently because it was the terminus of the Union Left, but all of the other Union regiments, including the 44th NY, the 84th Pa, the 16th ???, were wrapped around the top of Little Round Top and fought as fiercely against the 4th Tx, 5th Tx, 4th Ala (?) and one other Ala Rgt as the 15th fought against the 20th Maine.
