A couple of follow up questions if your willingly to answer.

I am assuming that after Vicksburg, Mississippi the 36th and 39th and others in the brigade were taken to Mobile, Alabama after being paroled at Vicksburg. And I am further assuming they were given a months furlough after reaching Mobile and ordered to report back to parole camp. I am also assuming they reported to the parole camp in Decatur, Georgia and were exchanged in October 1863. The assumptions are based on other Georgia regiments at Vicksburg and their path back into active duty. Do you know of any documentation that would either support these assumptions or deny them? The 36th Georgia unit history is woefully lacking information.

The second question is at the formation of the 36th Regiment, Georgia Infantry was it known as 36th Regiment, Georgia Infantry (Glenn's)? And if so when did it become the 36th Regiment, Georgia Infantry (Broyles')? It may very well go back to Colonel Glenn's arrest? However, General Ainsworth and his staff when making the Confederate CMSR's starting in 1903 seem to indicate it was (Broyles') regiment from the beginning from reading some of the soldiers CMSR's. For example muster rolls made in 1862 refer to the regiment as being Broyles'. I am familiar with Villepigue's 36th Georgia which was an entirely different regiment than Glenn's and Broyles'.
