Mr. Brooke,

I will refer you to the Record of Events of Company E in the Compiled Military Service Records. It has them in Atlanta on September 1, 1863. I cannot currently account for the 36th Georgia for the last two weeks of August. I do remember some discussion that there were attempts to get at least the 34th, 36th, and 39th Georgia in Dalton since they were predominately from the counties of Cherokee Georgia. Many of my files are currently in storage and inaccessible.

I would encourage you to continue to dig. It's all a jigsaw puzzle. You may want to check out my bibliography on my website for material you may not have seen on the 36th Georgia.
