My condolences. My people are on my mother's side--Smith County, Middle Tennessee, small-scale slave holders, my ggf in Allison's Squadron ("doing some harm and no good" per Bragg, a brother in the 28th Tn. shellacked at Mill Springs and buried at Shiloh in a common trench. Two brothers in the 4th (Starne's) Cav. one of whom got acclimatized to a Yankee winter at Rock Island POW camp, near Davenport. Have Specks as well from Overton County, one of whom, not direct blood, is buried at self same place. I have done a range of military surveys and studies for the IANG particularly a study of our CW mobilization camps.
