There are a number of G. W./George Washington Jones and their widows who filed for Texas pensions. Perhaps he did also. If
so, we could get a more accurate picture of his service.
G. W. Jones, Private, Company G, 10th (DeMoss') Regiment Tennessee Cavalry,* enlisted December 13, 1862 at Waverly, Tenn. by Col. Carroll for the war, recorded absent, sick on the May & June, 1863 muster roll, no other records
Note: There are no subsequent surviving company muster rolls which denies our knowledge of his subsequent service
* This company was formerly Company D, Napier's Battalion Tennessee Cavalry
W. G. McCauley served in Company G at 1st Lieutenant and Captain. Killed at Serversville [sp?], East Tenn. Jan. 28, 1864
