Note the 10th Tenn. Cavalry regiment was formed in late February 1863;from the consolidation of Cox's & Napier's cavalry battalions.
Since Private Moore enlisted in November of 1862, he would have been formerly a member of Cox's Battalion; even though i could not locate his name on rosters of this battalion. But the date of enlistment confirms this. My ancestors were formerly member's of Napier's battalion{then 10th Tn Cav.}; Union authorities often called these units of the Confederate cavalry "guerrillas"/"bushwhackers" in their dispatch's.
