Adding to what you posted earlier Ken, with regards to Co. M, 14th Ks., I am going to concur with you as the likeliness of the man being in Company M. I saw from my records of post returns for the period the regiment is listed as being armed with Remington, 1840 sabers and various carbines. Where, I am wondering, was this picture taken? Was it in Ft. Scott? Most likely, and if true then certainly not IHG as once the three regiments left the area in late 62 they never returned. I have seen the pictures mentioned in the early days of the IHG. When it came to the 3rd IHG one has to remember that most of those men had belonged to Drews regiment and they were still wearing the same clothes when the 3rd was organized. Sorting out who had what, where and when has always been a major pain in the butt with the IHG without the returns. Now we are beginning to see some of them surface.
