I have a ancestor named Archer Avery who was a horse soldier in Cobb's Calvary. He was born in 1844 and enlisted in 1861. He survived the war. My brother has a picture of him posing in his confederate uniform holding an old pistol. He has what look like hip boots and his big hat. He posed in 1926. It is an amazing picture and I have no idea what happened to his complete uniform and pistol. He was from Georgia and Cobb's Cav. was considered a Georgia outfit I think. Anybody know anything about Cobb's Cav. I did find Archer Avery listed on the roster for Cobb's Cav.
