Hi Jill; More regarding Ambrose Williams.

Have you seen the FCTC Testimony and Case for "John T. Williams, Et. Al., Choctaws - Commission No. 230-1006" ???

It states that Sarah Williams was the mother of Ambrose Williams, half blood and it states that Ambrose signed the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit?? This is where I got some of the information on Ambrose. It also does confirm that John T. Willilams, Ambrose's son, walked to IL and that he was not allowed to attend school there so he ran away and walked back to MS where he was more readily accepted. He then went to near Sherman, TX and finally settled in Swink, OK. Inbetween these two locations he lived at a town that was on the AR/OK line. There's a lot more with Ex. A, B, C, D included.

This was all due to John T. applying for his enrollment in the Choctaw Nation in now OK. It's very interesting but I'm sure some of it is questionable because it is based on John T. Williams memory of events that happened when he was younger.
