One of the men I have been researching(17thTN) was from southern Ill. and he went "home" to TN when he thought there would be a war so he could fight for the Confederacy. The trail on him ends around June,1863. I have sent for his records from the "board". It will be interesting to read when they get here! I also ran across that Bushrod Johnson moved/stayed with one of his men from Ill. for a year or two. I haven't read the article for a while so memory is ????
