Modern Day Story...My Uncle and Aunt hired a Maid when their first child was born, every day this maid took care of the baby, the house and the couple like family. After her husband died, my uncle built a wing on their house and the maid lived with them until she died...when she was too old to care for them...they had a new maid to care for her.
Color never made a difference and to this day my cousins still talk about "Granny".
