Captain Lemon's house is less than 500 feet from where the railroad depot was in Acworth....there are numerous stories about how difficult it was to transport Wofford's Brigade along the W&A. Refer to the books "To Honor These Men" and "Georgia Sharpshooter"-Montgomery has an interesting story about seeing a lady friend on the train platform in Marietta as his train passed by without stopping. I'm in south carolina now so if I can help with research feel free to ask. Does anyone have any info on uniforms or weapons issued to the 18th? In "To Honor These Men" it seems Phillip's Legion was issued m1855 rifles while at Camp McDonald;the rifles having been captured from the arsenal in Augusta.
thanks!
