Home of Colonel James Henry Neal (formerly Captain; Company "B"[Jackson Guards] 19th Georgia Infantry)
(on the corner of Washington and Mitchell streets in Atlanta)
It was used by general Sherman as his headquarters during the Federal occupation of Atlanta.
Colonel Neal's daughter, Lousia Neal was 8 years old when Gen. Sherman came through her father's farm and set up camp in her mother's kitchen. Sherman had Mrs. Neal made him hot buscuits. Louisa, served Gen. Sherman the buscuits.
