I will,dig out my Crawford letters at first opportunity. What the CSR for Medock tells you is that he was in Fagan's escort when he enlisted. In March of 63 the company was Millers Independent Co. They served as Fagan's escort. Then in Dec 63 they were enrolled in Crawfords cavalry. Now keep in mind, in March of 1864 Crawfords regiment was less than 200 men. By the end of Prices raid after casualties etc, I am sure there would have been less than 100. Since Fagan and Crawford were close Benton friends, only makes sense that perhaps the entire regiment made up his escort. They had served together since 1861 days.
