As far as revisionist history goes, that is a matter of perspective. As the modern version of some old sayings go, "The victor write the history" and 'he who is one persons "Freedom Fighter" is another man's "Terrorist". Revisionist History of the American Civil War started with the Emancipation Proclaimation, when the original war aims of the United States Government changed from "Preserving the Union" to "Freeing the Slaves", for political reasons.

As far As Col. Moore's plantation goes, his was only one of several plantations along the lower Arkansas River near Arkansas Post that were visited (raided) by Union landing parties, after the surrender, for their Cotton in the sheds and Corn in the cribs, and I am sure pigs and chickens were included also. What they could not carry off they burned.
