Since it is not labeled because the museum can not varify the story, a casual observer to the museum would not know the history of this nightgown, as it appear to only be displayed as an example of Civil War era clothing. Sadly without varification this story simply become one of those "Old Wives tales". I probably has a basis if fact. But like "Doubting Thomas" it will not be believed until someone can put their fingers into the wounds.
