Re: St. Charles Battle aftermath

I have my own theory about why such things are not put out there to the public anymore. It has something to do with political correctness and whitewashing the truth. Seems that lately all atrocities are blamed on irregular Confederate gorilla forces who were more bandit than soldier. Another case of revisionist history propagated by the N.E.A............. Pardon me, I,ll get off my soapbox now. This really not the place for such rants. Great talking with you. One place in the Ark Post area that is very interesting is the site of the old Colonel Moore plantation. I used to deer hunt in this area. There is the old family cemetery, a slave cemetery and the site of the Moore home itself. At some point the home burned. In the late 1970s the U. of A. did an archeological dig at the site. Lots of people have found minie balls on the farmland around the home. Sadly this is all private property.
