Question: Since you were raised in Arkansas County, did you ever check to see how many of your
neighbors, etc had descended from men who had been Union soliders that either returned to the
area or else never left.
I know for a fact that my first cousin and her husband both descended from Union soldiers from
Illinois who had served in the area. On her side, I would think her paternal grandfather
would have rolled over in his grave if he had realized that his grandfather was a Yankee soldier.
