The Arkansas in the Civil War Message Board

Re: St. Charles Battle aftermath

As I said the atmosphere and attitude of the federal soldiers at St. Charles, because of the Mound City incident, was such that I would not doubt such an incident occurring. I have been to that museum at Arkansas Post several time and if the dress is still in their museum it has not registered on me. The museum has so much area history artifacts house in it that it is difficult to tell what is Civil War related and what is not. I am supposed to be there tommorrow, saturday, for a living history event (weather and other factors permitting). I will make a point of seeing if they still have it.
