I am new at this, so please forgive all mistakes. I am trying very hard to trace my ancestors. My grandfather is from Shenandoah County (the Jerome area), Virginia. I believe my great-great granfather (Thomas Dellinger) was a member of the 136th Va. Militia regiment. I have been unable to find any info on this regiment. Can anyone offer any advise? Was this a local militia? Inactive? Etc. Thanks so much for any & all help.
I really am hooked on researching my family's genealogy, but right now have neither the time nor the funds to 'do it right'
