Hey Joe,

Mine left in 1835 for Mo.(Greene Co.) and then 1850 Texas(Collin Co.) You have got to go back to Roane someday. I visited about 14 years ago in the fall and absolutely gorgeous. Ft.Southwest Point on the Tennessee at Kingston and Waldens Ridge to the west. Some breathtaking scenery throughout.

What is fascinating when wandering the cemeteries is that so many of the CSA soldiers and Federals are greatly mixed. I would suspect that if a man did not leave early with a CSA unit his options would have been limited. Either join the Feds or die. Many of my cousins that remained joined.
