The 26th Tenn. was captured at Fort Donelson; field officer's were sent to Fort Warren, other officer's to Johnson's island, privates sent
to Camp Morton {near Indianapolis,Indiana} The privates were exchanged at Vicksburg,Mississippi {September, 1862} where they were met
by their officer's who had been exchanged in Virginia
