Okay, so are you saying not only was he was born in Alabama, but he
served with a group out of Alabama, also?
Can you tell if he ever drew a pension? My thought being the pension
would tell who Matthew R. Baynes actually served with.
I am pretty sure that this man was related to those who came out of Virginia.
They used various spelling of the surname of Bayne/Bain/Baynes/ being
part of the MacBean Clan out of Scotland.
