Matthew R. Baynes, possibly CSA

Hello. I am trying to learn something about a man named Matthew R. Baynes. He was born in
Alabama in 1840 and ended up living nearly his whole life in Mississippi. So, I am thinking there
is a very good chance that he served with some Mississippi group during the Civil War.
He was married twice and I believe he and his first wife had at least four children.
As I am just starting this search, I have told you about everything that I know.
I truly believe this man related to the Bayne families that once lived in Shelby County,
Tennessee prior to the Civil War and had ties back to Kentucky and Virginia.
Any solid information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a million.
