thanks bruce,
I am more thinking out loud, so to speak.. Since Anderson was killed wearing a black overshirt that had red embroidery and the union militia thought him to be a officer based on how "fancy" he was dressed.. I thought maybe blunt could have been equipped close to the same.. I am doing a painting based on the guerrilla warfare so, that is my curiousity on the guerrilla dress ect.. So I hope ya dont mind when I ask these questions since I know you have seen and studied numerous text ect in regards to the guerrillas and the way the Union troops saw them..
I know many guerrillas after the war wrote about dress and referred to the overshirts as black and embroidered ect.. But, in real world, I have seen numerous photos of guerrillas in everything from checkered overshirts to brilliant red.. So i think that sometimes the guerrillas got a little "fanciful" in their writings .. That is why i am always trying to find Union or civilian accounts which seem more accurate.. Once again, thanks for all the help..
