After reading and studying the guerrilla war in western missouri for years I have come across numerous mentions of Andy Blunt and the mystery of his true identity.. Has there been any clues at all about who he was and what his real name might have been..? Quantrill obviously felt highly about him to take him on his Richmond trip and give him a command.. The only thing I can assume is that he was from maybe Saline county since he seemed to stay there and recruit and cause mischief until his death in '64.. But, there seems to be a common thread that he was using a alias and no one truly knew his circumstances.. Does any one have any clues as to who he really was?
