You may want to see my sketch about this "Major George Washington" on my website, since I have sort of organized the places mentioned by legal descriptions. ..Of the nine or so 1871 surveys of now Oklahoma counties that I've seen thus far, the 1871 Garvin County survey contains a little more info than surrounding counties. This makes sense since Initial Point, that most of Oklahoma is surveyed from, is in now Garvin County.

Since I was reared on Rush Creek near Whitebead, I loved studying these 1871 and 1899 surveys.
