I found on The Cronicles of Oklahoma a description of the location of Gov. Winchester Colbert's home. It says he lived 10 miles north of Tishomingo where Pennington Creek crosses highway 7 in Johnston county. It said there was an old 30 foot water wheel that still worked in the old Ballard Park. Home burned Feb. 1864 by Col. W. A. Phillips.
My cogitation puts this at the fish hatchery near Reagan Ok.
I feel like this was a good clue to the route because Phillips said he was at the Colbert home. Does anybody have an opinion on this?
