I think I have figured out the location of the skirmish on Middle Boggy. I think it was in the area where route 75 crosses Muddy Boggy.. A little south of the Canadian River.
Reasons:
Phillips talks about cleaning out the Creek, Seminole, and Chickasaw Nations.
I think Phillips route from North Town was southwest but stayed north of the Canadian River through the Creek Nation until he reached the point where Little river runs into the Canadian. There Phillips sent a detachment up Little River into the Seminole Nation.
Phillips crosses to the south side of the Canadian and this puts him in the extreme north west corner of the Choctaw Nation. One of his reports was supposed to have been sent from the Choctaw Nation. From this area Phillips sends another detachment to check Caney Creek. There is a fork of Muddy Boggy near the area called Caney Boggy.
Phillips moves from the site of the skirmish 21 miles and camps on south Boggy. From where route 75 crosses Muddy Boggy to Cochrans or old Stonewall is almost exactly 21 miles. From Stonewall and Cochrans there is a southwest route to Ft. Arbuckle. I think Phillips took this route, passed by Governor Colberts and on south.
This route would have been a little west of Fort Washita .
We know Phillips did not go to Fort Washita or Boggy Depot. I do not think Phillips came down through Perryville or he would have burned it in Feb.
In one report Phillips said he was planning to clean out the Choctaw Nation later on in May.
My best guess.
Best Regards
