The reference to the 3rd Arkansas Infantry is apparently Gratiot's 3rd Ark State Troops under N.B. Pearce who redesignated them from the 1st to the 3rd.

Bryan: What is the source of the roster? Does it give any enlistment info, i.e. enlistment date? (Dennis Brooke's posts name 5 more men captured as Helena shown as being in the 3rd Ark but I don't see any of them on this roster. Perhaps they were in other companies under Gratiot.)

The bio info on Levi Whitfield Thomas in the Confederate Veteran says he was at Wilson Creek, Pea Ridge, and Prairie Grove. At Wilson's Creek he would have been in Gratiot's 3rd Ark. At Prairie Grove in was in King's 35th Ark Inf. However, the enlistment dates for the 35th Ark all show as June 18, 1862 so I'm wondering whether he was actually at Pea Ridge and if so, in what unit?

I'm guessing the references to "company C" are incorrect and he was really in co. G in both Gratiot's 3rd Ark State Troops and in the 35th Ark (aka 1st Regt Ark Inf NW Division, Trans-Miss District).

J.P. King was subsequently his colonel but originally King was 1st Lt. in the Frontier Guard and then captain of co. G in Rector's Regt (1st/35th), appointed major and then to colonel in Sept 1862.
