On page 266, Vol. 39, 1931, Levi Whitfield Thomas, it notes:

“He enlisted July 1, 1861, in Company C, 3rd Arkansas Regiment , under Col. James King, and participated in the battles of Wilson Creek, Mo., Prairie Grove and Pea Ridge, Ark. He was captured July 4, 1863, at Helena, Ark. . . . .”

This is the 2nd time in two days I’ve seen Federal POW records list incorrect units and continue, card after card. How it got recorded as such in the CV is a mystery.

Levi’s regiment was designated at various times as 1st Regiment (Rector’s) Arkansas Infantry, Northwest Division, Trans-Mississippi District; King’s Regiment Arkansas Infantry; McCord’s Regiment Arkansas, and 35th Regiment Arkansas Infantry.

Nothing related to the 3rd.
