Joseph S.H. Houck would be yet another incorrectly identified as being with the 3rd Arkansas at Helena. However, this time General Ainsworth's clerk was Mr. Duncan. Like Levi Thomas, Joseph Houck was with Company G 35th Arkansas. Unlike Levi Thomas however he was listed as in both the 3rd Arkansas and 35th Arkansas on some of his Confederate CMSR's. The mistake seems to have been made at Helena, Arkansas after reading more on the Federal POW records.
