Re: Parade Ground at Monticello Arkansas

The 9th Arkansas Regiment was organized at Pine Bluff on July 20, 1861, and was mustered into service there. The regiment itself was never at Monticello; however, the "Dixie Guards" (Co. F) did muster at Monticello on July 1, 1861; and the "Cut Off Guards" (first Co. B) mustered at Cut Off (present-day Collins) around the same time; both prior to joining the 9th Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
