Hayes LoweThanks guys, and I found it! More>>>Mon Feb 19 22:35:42 2001 From the O.R.'s:MARTIN'S DIVISION - Maj. Gen. William T. Martin First Brigade - Brig. Gen. John T. Morgan 1st Alabama, Lieut. Col. D.T. Blakey 3d Alabama, Lieut. Col. T.H. Mauldin 4th Alabama [Russell's], Lieut. Col. J.M. Hambrick Malone's (Alabama) Regiment, Lieut. Col. James C. Malone, Jr. 51st Alabama, Capt. M.L. KirkpatrickThe 51st Alabama is obviously the Kirkpatrick's Ky. Cav. Battalion listed in the microfilm records (shown not just once as "Kirkpatrick's Ky. Cav. Batn.", but several times, in several different rolls of film!). I'd bet that there is a roll of film for Kentucky units that has info on the 51st Alabama Cavalry! Also note that the 4th Alabama is in the same brigade, which ties in to Col. Goldsby. Now what is still mysterious, though, is that W.M. Weaver appears to have given the information that he was in the 2nd Brigade, 2nd Battalion of Morgan's Cavalry. Could the 51st have been a battalion called "Kirkpatricks" at some earlier point in the war? The above is from 1863. And, apparently W.M. Weaver is not found on the rolls of the 51st, as there is no possible listing for him in Broadfoot's in that regiment.No. Try this......
