Clutter's Batt-Va Light Arty

My wife's great grandfather served in "Clutter's Battery- Virginia Light Artillery".......his name is....Eliazer D Pitts.
He has a miliitary marker on his grave that states the unit & says "1861-CSA-1865".
He was b. Apr. 9, 1848 d. Dec. 14, 1926........lived in Caroline & or Essex counties.
looking for any information about this unit & a roster of names......thanks.

Leizer D. Pitts
Clutter's Company, Virginia Light Artillery a.k.a. Richmond "Johnson" Light Artillery Battery

Listed on the 1860 Census of Caroline County, Virginia as "Elezzer" D. Pitts, age 11, living in the household of Samuel Farmer, age 24, farmer.
Listed as Eleazer D. Pitts on the 1850 Caroline County Census, age 2. Living with Catherine Pruet, age 40, "pauper" and Mary Pitts, age 23. His name was probably "Eleazar" from the Hebrew meaning "Help of God".

Clutter's Company, Virginia Light Artillery
Johnson's-Clutter's Battery [also called Jackson's Flying Artillery] was organized at Richmond, Virginia,during March, 1862, with men from Richmond. The unit was assigned to R.L. Walker's, D.G. McIntosh's, and M. Johnson's Battalion of Artillery, Army of Northern Virginia. It served with the army from the Seven Days' Battles to Cold Harbor, was active in the operations at Petersburg, and ended the war at Appomattox. The battery had 96 men at Gettysburg and surrendered with 1 officer and 55 men. Its captains were Valentine J. Clutter and Marmaduke Johnson.

If you can't find a listing in a regimental history, try civilwardata.com (subscription site) which lists personnel under their "Regiment Personnel" listing. I searched under Leizer D. Pitts's name under "Personnel Directory" initially and it brought up a link to the Richmond "Johnson" VA Light Artillery Batty" which includes Clutter's.
Incidentally, it doesn't appear to have any further info on Leizer D Pitts himself, other than what you have already mentioned.
