Leonard, You must be right. I have wondered myself how the War might have been different if there had been far fewer Southern men fighting for the Union. The War would have certainly lasted longer and if the Confederates had so much more manpower in the early years or in a few of the major battles (e.g. Gettysburg), the outcome could have cost Lincoln the 1864 election. Anyway, very good point.
