Re: Hampton's Cavalry - Lt. Jeffers of 2nd SC Cav

I believe I've found proof that Lt. Jeffers may have survived the war. According to the U.S. Federal Census for 1900, there was a T. A. Jeffers from South Carolina living in the Maryland Line Confederate Soldiers Home (located near Baltimore - Pikesville) then. His father and mother were both from SC and this man was born in January of 1837. I'm going to see if I can find out more info about this old Confederate veteran to see if he was actually the Thomas A. Jeffers who was in the 2nd SC Cavalry.
