In trying to retrace the Gen Dwight positions as the march from Alexandria occurs to Ft. Derussy. Osburne ( I located) Wilsons (I located) Staffords Plantation- no name mentioned , could be Thomas Jefferson Stafford, I believe his plantation was a couple of miles East of Latanier and West of Echo,La Gen. Dwight sends a message from there as a skirmish ahead of his position occurs....Comptons Plantation- no name mentioned, could be Peter or S.L.,somewhere near Echo,La. Confederate Gen. Baylor is positioned there at Comptons and is forced to retreat to Marksville on the Marksville Road as the Federals approach. Col. Chisum in the same skirmish,retreated down the Cheneyville Road and a Confederate picket force is soon posted there at Compton's.

Lodi Plantation you mentioned, is that where Brig. Gen. J.L.Brent operated from in 1865 ?
There is a lot of information you can not trust "on line"...thats why I come to you guy's... Thomas Jefferson Stafford being Leroy's father was taken from one of those sites...and by the way, Gen. Leroy Stafford was killed at about the same time Gen. Banks retreat form Alexandria occurs. His poor wife and 9 children !
