Greg,
It seems that the only two people who did NOT associate the
subject flag with Thompson was the Col. of the 10th Ill. and
the captain in whose possession the flag has remained for the
past 150 years.
So I "assume"that if I had a battle with Gen. "Smith's troops"
and captured a flag; that flag must be Gen. Smith's.
You said as much in your report. Trouble with selling stuff; is that
once sold the buyer may use it in any fashion they chose.
