Yes I corresponded with him and explained it had to be the 11th, the 12th took theirs with them as they were the regt loading everything from Ft Thompson while the 11th was sent forward in the dark and heavy storm to hold back the Union advance..needless to say, flag-less. I had found an account of some of the Mich Cav going in to Ft Thompson early on the 13th but have since misplaced it. I believe I first proposed that the 1st Natl attributed incorrectly to the 9th Ark had to be that of the 11th but I couldn't get the Musuem where it is now held to even consider it...they would only go with the WD info attached to the flag. Again, somewhere I have info on the Mich Cav entering the fort whichnwouldmback up it being that of the 11th...just have to find it again!
