Broadfoot Publishing is also working on a South Carolina Regimental Series, partly due to the noted sucess of the Virginia Regimentals, and other half that most of the South Carolina unit histories had not previously been written to any real effect. There is a gentleman that I earlier communicated with thats currently puting the final touches on a 10th SC History for Broadfoot.

I personally had 8 ancestors that served in the 10th SC, two of which I was fortunate to locate and obtain copies of war time photo's in uniform of them in possession of other distant relatives still residing in SC. Doing the family research and history of that particular family group was most interesting... 16 siblings... 14 were male... 11 were of military age at the time the Civil War started... ALL 11 went off to war... 7 of the 11 didnt return. (5 of this family group was in the 10th SC)

A number of years ago one of my ancestors was being exhumed from a long forgotten small family cemetery that when I first located it was sitting in a briar patch in the middle of a soy bean field. Another distant cousin residing in Horry County of the same family branch worked to have him moved to the Reedy Creek Cemetery in Horry where many other ancestors from the Marion/Horry segments of the family are buried. Members of the 10th SC reenactment unit served as pall-bearers for the reinternment.

Im also one of the historian/writers for this new SC Regimental Series, but I have the 1st SC Inf (Greggs) and the 21st SC Inf... also ones that I had some ancestory in as well.
