Like I said follow the 36th. When the 36th had an encounter, check the Union records and see if they say so
many are dead. Several deserted after Helena, just taking off.
It is very possible that Humphries was killed, captured, or died from disease on the field or even at home
and no one in this day and time has a clue.
I have several extended family members who no one has a clue on what became of that person.
If by some remote chance Humphries was captured and died in the prison in Little Rock-that covers a very narrow frame of time-
his name would have appeared in the book called Rebel's Hell which is from the National Archives and relates to only
that prison. You would have to check for an inter-library loan to look at that and you have to go page by page to learn anything.
I am actually a Price decendant out of White County because my gg grandmother, Jane Price Loyd, was the oldest child of
Fielding Price who died in the Yankee Prison in Little Rock on Feb. 1, 1865.
In regard to the Moye, he had an obit on the front page of the Arkansas Gazette in the early 1920's when he died. According to what
the obit article said and what the book Rebel's Hell stated, Moye and Fielding Price were both in the 1st Arkansas Cav. which was
under the command of Dobbins. Moye had outlived something like 4 wives and had many children. Some of those Moyes were
inter- connected with my mother-in-law's family and that particular Moye bunch, I almost know.
