Hi Mr Green. Yes, I have your book and use it often. Your book does say that the "POW surrendered at Citronelle, Al, by Lt General R. Taylor on May 4, 1865 and paroled at Meridian, MS on May 13, 865." That implies to me he was not returned to Ship Island for a second stay, even though others might have been, as you mentioned. The last few pages of your story, before the Compiled Records actually clarifies what must have happened to my GGr when combined with his service record in your book. I do not believe he was one of the men who ended up at Ship Island twice. I definitely should have re-chedcked the information in your book, which has been very helpful to me throughout my research. Thank you for the reminder and for the great research. It is appreciated.
