YES, the information does help. The service records are a bit challenging, as we all know, but guess that is the fun of it. In my case, I believe my GGr was exchanged from Ship Island in jan '65, sent to the transfer point in Mobile where he returned to the 21st and ended up at Spanish Fort. Upon that surrender he was sent to Camp Townsend and processed out from there in May 1865. Best scenario I can piece together from al the different pieces, so I appreciate the help from all. Thank you
