Thanks, Rick. Your pictures brought to light a discrepancy in my research. I have the same pictures, but only of the Confederate tombstone that apparently is not my ancestor's, as I thought. It does appear as if the tombstone I thought was my GG Uncle's (the Confederate one pictured) is not for the same person after all. On it the birthdate shows 1841 (I think) and that is too early for my ancestor. Also the other tombstone is linked to Elizabeth Caldwell, so it seems that one is actually my ancestor's tombstone and it does not reflect Confederate military service. I know that tombstone is in our cemetery but I had not focused on it before and should have. I will have to investigate this a bit further with our Cemetery Association to make sure we have our facts straight. Thanks for the help!
