Since most of the war this man belonged to Co. D, 40th Alabama Regt, documents showing him as Co D, 30th Alabama Regt. may be in error. The other possibility is that sometime in 1864 he transferred to Co D, 30th Alabama Regt.

Pickett was a resident of Shelby County AL and was assigned to the 40th Alabama as a conscript, Sept 8, 1862.
